Katy Perry made one heck of an entrance at this year’s Met Gala when she showed up wearing larger than life angel wings on the carpet. With this year’s theme being – “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination” Katy hit the nail on the head. Vogue Magazine applauded Katy’s bold look tweeting QUOTE – “@KatyPerry’s interpretation of tonight’s theme is appropriately next-level: a gold @Versace chain-mail minidress, thigh-high boots, and giant feathered angel wings, which reportedly span six feet.” Versace was the mastermind behind the ensemble that consisted of a gold chain-mail mini dress, matching thigh high heeled boots, and those wings you couldn’t miss from a mile away. In fact the wings were so large that Katy had to turn sideways just to fit through door frames.
Unfortunately wedging her way through doors wasn’t the only problem the wings created. At one point Katy’s wings straight up hit a woman in the face nearly knocking her to the ground.
I’m guessing Katy didn’t notice because she seemed a bit unphased. Luckily the woman who was hit was a good sport about it and laughed the run in off. I guess with wings that large, the possibility of someone getting hit in the face is inevitable. Remember when Ariana Grande was hit with angel wings at the Victoria’s Secret fashion show? It happens. Plus Katy’s stylist Jamie Mizrahi gave fair warning telling PeopleStyle prior to the event QUOTE – “I will just say she will definitely make an entrance! I mean you know Katy, how much she loves dress up and theatrics and kind of a production, so I think that is the joy in that.”
Theatrics indeed. What did you guys think about Katy’s look?
